A Week Later: Marijuana Still Leads The Race
Boy was that an election! The president never stopped being the president and the president-elects’ mental status is probably confusing him regarding his supposed win last Saturday. But guess who has been impressively standing on stage this entire time delivering the most useful message? Marijuana was recreationally legalized in the states of New Jersey, Arizona, South Dakota and Montana this year. Mississippi came big by legalizing medical marijuana. It seems that with each passing year, marijauna is gaining more supporters who are pro-legalization.
The science remains young and we do not have enough evidence based on medical clinical trials to conclude any legitimate long-term health benefits and adverse effects of marijuana consumption. But it has reached a point where criminalizing marijuana users is no longer sensical; I mean, going to prison for possession of marijuana? That sounds so archaic. Remember, however, that even though marijuana is on an upward legalization trend, does not mean that we become naive to its potential mental health side effects such as anxiety, a psychological addiction and even psychosis!
A week later . . . and marijuana is still the clear winner of this year’s presidential election!
