Redefining Your Thoughts
The exciting thing about your thought processes is that you have the ability to change them at anytime. If a certain way of thinking has not helped you in the past, experimenting with a new perspective and outlook on things can help change your life for the better. But it takes practice and consistent application.
It first starts with redefining your thoughts: “Is this the way I like to think?”, “Am I happy viewing the world in this way?”, “Do I identify with my thoughts?”, “Is this even me or am I programmed by society?” Redefining your thoughts takes much practice and many runs to reach a mindset that will serve you best and bring you happiness and success.
The worst thing that you can do is to remain complacent and uphold the same thought patterns that have brought you mediocracy at best. There is no way to open up new doors and cruise new avenues with an outdated mindset; you’ll be getting more and more flat tires from the same potholes which have never been fixed.
And there is no finish line for redefining your thoughts. You constantly have to update your mindset, just as how society is constantly updating and evolving. If you do not find a way to stay ahead of society or at least follow its course, you will fall behind. And falling behind is when mental illness creeps in.
After you have discovered your newfound will to redefine your thoughts, you have to start implementing the power of belief! New thoughts without belief is like a new car without keys; you’ll just be observing from the showroom. But to transition from the showroom onto new avenues, you’ll need to start believing your new thoughts.
Many people have difficulty believing something which they have not yet achieved because they expect instant results. Impossible. Except out of luck and blessings, positive new results take time to achieve and to be delivered into your life. This is not an overnight gig.
Believing takes practice! Simple saying “I believe” is not enough. You need to invest all of your emotions, thoughts, will and might into believing something new that you would like to accomplish. And this needs to be applied every day, through the good and the hard times. But with consistent application of belief and redefining your thoughts as needed, you will soon experience the positive new results which you have been searching for!
