51% Dreams

It’s Not All About Hard Work

Everything starts within your imagination. Everything starts within your mind. Everything starts within your dreams. What’s the point of working hard if you don’t know why you’re working hard in the first place? What’s the point of endless hours of devotion if all that hard work is not aligned with your dreams? Do you even have dreams? If you’re stuck and don’t know where you’re headed, then start with your dreams. Once you figure them out, then the rest becomes history.

Whenever you become down in life and hopeless that your future is over, remind yourself of your dreams and allow them to fill you with power, motivation and inspiration. Every time you feel derailed off your path to success, use your dreams to get you back on track. You’ll encounter many moments of discouragement, disappointments and even failures, but it’s how you get yourself back up that matters the most. Use your dreams as an anchor to prevent you from falling too many times; to prevent you from drowning!

The formula is simple: 50% hard work + 51% dreams = 101% success.

It Makes Me Normal

Cute young woman holding green bong

The Lamest Excuse To Use A Drug

Being natural is normal. Being substance-free is normal. Being you without any exogenous chemicals is normal. When you use a substance to get high while hiding behind the excuse, “it makes me normal,” then something is clearly missing from your natural self when not under the influence. No drug can make you normal. None. Zip. Zero. Nil? Yes, nil! People want to see the real you and if you’re saying that drugs make you normal, then there is something that you’re doing wrong or suffering from.

Drugs were never created to make you feel normal. There are many arguments behind the creation of drugs, but almost everyone will agree that drugs are not a replacement of your personality. If your personality is changing while experimenting with a drug, then please discontinue that drug pronto. If anything good is to be observed of drugs, it’s perhaps their great ability to make you more creative, allow you to think outside the box and relax more efficiently. But your personality must remain congruent with these drug-induced experiences, or else you’re allowing the drug to mold your personality into someone who you’re not.

Don’t do that. Just be normal. Just be you (with/without drugs).

Marijuana Was The Winner Of The Presidential Election

A Week Later: Marijuana Still Leads The Race

Boy was that an election! The president never stopped being the president and the president-elects’ mental status is probably confusing him regarding his supposed win last Saturday. But guess who has been impressively standing on stage this entire time delivering the most useful message? Marijuana was recreationally legalized in the states of New Jersey, Arizona, South Dakota and Montana this year. Mississippi came big by legalizing medical marijuana. It seems that with each passing year, marijauna is gaining more supporters who are pro-legalization.

The science remains young and we do not have enough evidence based on medical clinical trials to conclude any legitimate long-term health benefits and adverse effects of marijuana consumption. But it has reached a point where criminalizing marijuana users is no longer sensical; I mean, going to prison for possession of marijuana? That sounds so archaic. Remember, however, that even though marijuana is on an upward legalization trend, does not mean that we become naive to its potential mental health side effects such as anxiety, a psychological addiction and even psychosis!

A week later . . . and marijuana is still the clear winner of this year’s presidential election!

Your Life Is A Dream

Man standing in middle of road at night

So Snap Out Of It More Often

Everything regarding the way you interpret reality stems from the most important organ in your presence: the brain. How you think and view the world is based on your personality and interpretation of your surroundings. If you can match your personality with an accurately honest, portrait of society, then you can proceed to viewing and observing reality for how it is meant to be viewed. But once you allow your mind to be influenced by outside forces (i.e. political influences, the entertainment industry or even dishonest conspiracies, etc.), you become more susceptible to programming or the manipulation of your mind, oftentimes without you even noticing it.

So take what you can from society that is still good and add it to your arsenal. But always remember that it’s your mind that is most precious, so snap out of it more often to keep it in check from outside forces! Protect your mind for it roams openly in a dangerous land, ready to be attacked at any minute by invisible forces.

Lockdowns Don’t Work

Life During The Coronavirus Pandemic

As COVID-19 cases continue to surge around the world, multiple countries are implementing 4-week national lockdowns. Whether the U.S. will be next is still yet to be seen, but it is my opinion that national or even local lockdowns are a terrible idea for the following reasons:

  • Small business owners are losing their income
  • The economy is crumbling
  • Many who are home are experiencing mental illnesses such as depression and anxiety
  • Many who are home are using more substances such as alcohol and marijuana
  • Lockdowns create uncertainty and fear in many people
  • Lockdowns force many people with a mental illness to remain home rather than being out and about
  • Lockdowns promote more virtual communication via Zoom and Webex rather than in-person interactions

. . . and the list goes on. The worst part about it is that even if we protest against lockdowns, the federal government will do what they wish; this is a form of control and a big middle finger to the people who elected them in the first place. It’s truly a dark time that we are living in, but we must make the most out of it and remain positive no matter the unfortunate events of this time.

What are your thoughts?

Weeding Out The Haters

Two young girls annoyed with each other

Don’t Waste Time Where It’s Not Needed

Meeting someone at first sight may be very deceiving; they may appear wonderful and sweet, like they’re going to be your new best friend, or annoying and disgustful, like you want to see them suffer. First impressions are not everything. It takes some time and digging through their chart to really discover their history. If you turn a blind eye to details, you’ll be distracted by the bigger picture which often does not paint a pretty sight. And what happens then? Well . . . you may end up surrounding yourself with people who don’t have your best interest at heart.

It’s not difficult to elicit more specific details about someone. All you have to do is catch them at a bad time when they are not at their best. When doing so, their emotions will get in the way and they will start revealing how they truly think and feel about you; at this point, you’re just raking in the juicy details. If their true thoughts and emotions are still pleasant, then you’re dealing with a keeper; if not, it’s time to say goodbye and move on.

Don’t do yourself a disservice by ignoring one’s true character; study them like a book and that’s how you’ll learn to weed out the haters from your true fans.

Practice Peacefully

Living Your Life With Peace And Comfort

It matters. A lot! Once you learn how to carry yourself throughout the day with peace and comfort, the process called life becomes much more enjoyable. Once you learn how to work hard with peace and comfort, the reward of “rest and digest” that follows is much more euphorically amplified. Practicing peace and comfort is not as easy as you may think for many people; life’s circumstances, negative emotions and even mental illness get in many peoples’ ways.

Once you learn how to more consistently live with peace and comfort, you’ll find that your days will start to progress more smoothly, contributing to a happy state of mind. But when you lose touch with peace and comfort is when your days become bombarded with pain, misery, annoyance, mental fatigue, negative distractions, roadblocks and many more. How many of you have been in that position?

Do the right thing. Practice peacefully.

Hard Work Stings

Red brick wall with live, work, create quote

But Why It Pays Off In The End

Because it feels good. After training your mind to consistently work hard over many years, you start deriving pleasure from it even if it stings in the moment. Of course anyone would prefer to relax and not have to work for a living if they had the opportunity, but even then, that scenario does not guarantee happiness. Hard work that is enjoyed almost always brings satisfaction and satisfaction often translates into happiness. But this is considering that you’re also incorporating free time and leisure activities around your hard work; if it’s all work but no play, then happiness flies out the window!

So whenever you are experiencing those long, unexpected, grueling days at work, remind yourself that you are not the only one going through them, and that happiness will be your reward before your turn off the lights at the end of the day!

Sad Sunset

When The Sun Sets, The Sadness Rises

Couple more hours ’till 7 pm . . . the sun approaches 5 pm and your sadness is thriving. You scratch your head wondering why this repeats year after year. It’s because it’s normal to not enjoy darkness; it makes the day feel shorter. Shorter means less fun. Less fun means more isolation. More isolation means you feel sad. Feeling sad means you’re in a rotten state of mind again. And the pattern continues down the rabbit hole.

The key is to learn to stay positive regardless of your environment. You don’t have control over what happens around you, but you have control over your mind. It’s when you lose control over your mind that you become most susceptible to outside forces. And when this happens . . . well, you become an easy target.

Keep a positive mindset handy at all times.

Embrace Sadness

See Where Sadness Takes You

Don’t fret it. Don’t hide it. Don’t bury it. See where it takes you. See what it makes you feel. See what thoughts it brings to the surface. We all tend to shy away for sadness. We all tend to use the unconscious, immature defense mechanism known as denial. We all tend to carry on like sadness is “not me.” But it is you! It is us! There are times when sadness becomes prevalent and we have to stare it in the eye and tell it, “You’re back . . . what are you going to teach me this time?”

Sadness is not something that should bring you embarrassment; it happens for a reason. Your job is to find out that reason and learn from it. If you suppress your sadness, do you think that it’ll go away? Maybe only temporarily. Suppression means that you are consciously moving a negative emotion or thought into your unconscious and no longer dealing with it in the present moment. But one day, it’ll come back out and you’ll have to encounter it once more.

So why deal with suppressed sadness at a future date when you can just deal with it today? Don’t shy away. Sadness is here to teach you a lesson; learn from it!
