Think Outside The Box

The Box Will Always Be Full

How long will you keep ignoring your inner urge to seek the truth? Even when you’re presented with tad bits of revelations, you rewind back to your comfort zone of trusting your present reality, as if somehow it were the accurate narrative. This is your psychological defense mechanism hardwired into your mind. Sometimes defense mechanisms have to be severed to evolve as a human being. The alternative is continuing in your present state of mind, which may not be satisfactory or purposeful to your growth. You have to think outside the box.

Many people never leave the box because they never think to do so, don’t care enough, don’t know how to or leave but quickly return back to their comfort zone. Let’s provide an example: ever since you were born, you have been surrounded by authority figures. These figures have included your parents, the educational system and the government. When in the world have you ever been alone and free?

It’s no wonder that every time you attempt to leave the box, you start to experience psychological discomfort and come running back telling yourself, “I have trust in our government, I have trust in the system, I have to trust the process.” As it has already been said, the box will always be full, but are you willing to leave square one and upgrade, perhaps even exponentially, to higher pyramidal levels?

Think Outside The Box – The Upgrade

So how do you go about thinking outside the box? Start by changing your outlook on life by implementing a curious state of mind. Think of a child who explores their environment, asks many questions and tries new activities. You have to find that childish side of you again and tap into it. The beauty about that childish state of mind is that it allows you to develop a lot of curiosity and imagination. This will open you up to new sources of information that can provide you with truth, alternative views on reality and newfound knowledge.

The next question is how do you tap into your childish state of mind? If you’re thinking about maturity, then no, you don’t have to become immature. A childish state of mind can be tapped into by desiring to be curious and exploring for new information. Many people aren’t curious to open up to new sources of information because they’re comfortable in their comfort zone. As I’ve previously written in another post, always staying in your comfort zone can hinder your growth. A comfort zone is safe but comfort does not always equate to growth. Oftentimes, comfort can hinder your growth by preventing you from trying new activities, talking to new people and opening up your mind to new sources of information.

The Execution

Now that you have successfully tapped into your childish state of mind, it’s time to continue your exploration. Thinking outside the box is not only about exploring new sources of information. You also have to be curious to study human behavior. Pay attention to your surroundings and observe the interactions of people in your environment. Notice how they dress, exchange words, converse and pay attention to their body language. Much useful information can be gathered from your surroundings that can help you evolve. Studying human behavior makes you smarter and sharper by expanding your emotional intelligence.

Emotional intelligence is important to have because excellent communication skills can open up new doors for you. By getting good at studying body language, you can place yourself in a great position when conversing with people. This will allow you to know how to interact with them so that you can get the best outcome of the situation you find yourself in. Some may ask, “doesn’t everyone already do this?” No, many people don’t pay attention to human behavior; they are too stuck in their mental bubble. As a result, they don’t get as much out of their encounters with others, missing potential opportunities for improvement.

Think Outside The Box – The Maintenance

You see, thinking outside the box is a mindset that you have to work at if it doesn’t already come naturally. Some people like myself developed a psychological lens since childhood (check out the learn more about me section). But even then, I must still keep working at maintaining this state of mind. We are so influenced by society, that it’s very easy to crawl back in the box and forget about expanding our consciousness. Now you can imagine that this can be a challenge for those who don’t naturally think outside the box. In other words, your aim should be to always think outside the box; make it a permanent mindset.

You must also be careful with the news sources that you rely on to get your information. While mainstream media provides you with the most juicy pictures and stories, much of that information may also have a twist or agenda. These twists and hidden agendas can easily influence you to remain inside the box. You end up becoming comfortable with what’s presented to you and no longer care to explore more independent news sources. You start to believe what is presented to you without even asking questions or doing your research. When this happens, your mind becomes captured by your environment and prevents you from thinking outside the box.

The Wrap-up

In conclusion, to think outside the box requires you to reunite with your childish state of mind. Once tapped into it, you must continuously work at executing this mindset by practicing curiosity, studying your surroundings and playing with your imagination. Lastly, you must make an effort to maintain this mindset by being careful with your surroundings and preventing outside influences from keeping you trapped in the box. I have no timeframe for how long this can last, but my recommendation is to maintain this mindset for life. You will only continue to grow and learn more about yourself and your surroundings. Growth will bring you satisfaction, happiness and a desire to further expand your consciousness.

Designing Your Reality

Certain people in society who are very successful (call them the ultra 1%) have everything going for them: generational wealth, power, success, political influence, geopolitical decision-making and even concealment of their identity from the masses. They have mastered the art of designing their reality by utilizing wealth and power through the disguise of liberal democracy. Their identity is hidden and that is exactly how they prefer their game of chess. You can be that too; you are what you think.

But one thing the masses have (and you should too) is spirit over mind. We are all taught about mind over matter, as if the mind is the final designer of our reality. It is not if you tap into what God gave us all from inception; he gave us spirituality. You see, your mind is like a computer and like any computer, its memory can be improved, its processor can be sped up, its software can be recreated and its defenses against viruses can be reinforced.

But how exactly does one reinforce its defenses against viruses of the mind? Through one’s spirit. Now, I cannot tell you how to utilize your spirit because no one knows how to, except you and the creator of this world, God. The important point to take away is that you have the power to design your reality through your spirit, which is greater than your mind. You just have to be aware of it and actually put it to use.

You are what you think - drawing of three heads and two brains in front of city

You Are What You Think – Don’t Forget That

Besides utilizing your spirit to design your reality, you must also utilize your mind. Practice positive affirmations starting with “I am.” This signals to your unconscious mind that your affirmation is being directed in the present. Your unconscious mind responds to the present because it records everything in the present moment only. It doesn’t respond to the future because the future does not yet exist. Repeat your affirmations multiple times a day; a few hundred times if possible. Also believe your affirmations and feel that you already have what you’re desiring. Feeling it and believing that you already have it speeds up the process. No one knows how this actually works, but many successful people claim to have utilized this technique to achieve success.

Give your mind wings by utilizing your spirit as a guidance.

Creating Your Reality

You’re given a brain that is blessed with a mind. This mind gives you the ability to experience reality, mental health, perception, emotions, thought content, relationships, etc. This mind gives you the ability to create, though you never thought about doing that before, have you? I can only imagine how wonderful it is to be able to visualize something into existence.

Many of us rely on our environment to create our reality; sometimes our mental health too! We rely on others to provide us with happiness, joy and contentment, when we should be providing this for ourselves.

What is the solution? Writing the rules. Waking up tomorrow and deciding that you will start taking things in your own hands. Waking up tomorrow and crying your tears out, realizing how much power you truly hold.

You disconnecting from your environment which is most likely half asleep and living in a trance like sheep in a pen. Aren’t you ready to evolve beyond this? Aren’t you ready to create and design your reality so that you can avoid mental health suffering?

I can only imagine: white hand holding green Earth

I Can Only Imagine What Reality Looks Like

The one defining feature that separates humans from animals is our imagination. Through imagination we can create our reality. Through repetition of thoughts, our unconscious mind somehow learns to attract our desires into the physical realm. I’m not sure how it works but it does. Have you ever repeatedly thought of something and then noticed it appear in your life? It usually happens when you least expect it.

You don’t always get access to it, but at least you can observe it. But sometimes you do get access to the object or person you visualized. My point is that our thoughts shape our reality, but I don’t understand how. Somehow, we attract in our life what we think about. I don’t have an explanation for how it happens, but I’ve noticed that it does.

Your job is not to focus on how your mind manifests things into reality, but to use your mind to manifest whatever you desire. A lot of people don’t use their imagination and live simple lives. Are you satisfied with just having a random job, house and a car? Don’t you want more out of life? If you do, then you have to start using your imagination and believing that your dreams will become a reality.

It can happen and it will happen. You just have to do it. I can only imagine.

Never Stop Believing

Do not give up scrabble letters

The Power Lies Within You

It’s very easy to allow society to discourage you from your wildest dreams. After all, why would anyone want to see you succeed? Use that as motivation when society laughs at your dreams. You can climb as high as you’d like because this is your life and you are the player; God has given you free will to live as you wish. Don’t allow lavish goals to become impossibilities. Anything is achievable if you can envision it within your eye’s mind. Forget all the details of, “How, when or even why.” Just keep dreaming and believe that life will position all the pieces in their right place. The next thing you’ll know after you open your eyes is your newfound reality based on a once upon a time dream. Never stop believing.

It’s also very easy to get discouraged when you don’t see the results you want. Many people motivate themselves by believing in something new, only to become disappointed when they don’t achieve it. A belief does not always immediately manifest; oftentimes, it takes years for a result to become apparent. People are very easily influenced by their environment. Whenever something bad happens that is not even related to their beliefs, they quickly become discouraged and give up. This is what separates successful people from those who plateau; they never stop believing.

Never stop believing - white woman with open arms

Don’t Give Up and Never Stop Believing

No one ever said that life is easy. Even for people born into wealth, they struggle with mental health problems due to insecurity of not having achieved their own wealth. You have people who don’t have wealth and struggle, and people with wealth who struggle. Mental health has no boundaries. Wealth is materialism and does not guarantee happiness and satisfaction in life. What guarantees happiness and satisfaction is the way you view the world and the thoughts that you experience. If you constantly experience self-defeating thoughts, your beliefs will crumble and your motivation to achieve your goals will fumble.

You have to understand that your environment will constantly challenge you; there’s no avoiding it. There are simply too many factors in our environment that easily influence us, such as people, the media, employment, education, etc. The only way to minimize environmental influences is by isolating yourself remotely in the countryside. But what will isolation accomplish you? Isolation is just a form of running away and hiding from your own expectations. People who isolate are either depressed or scared to work for their goals; they’re afraid of failure. You cannot be afraid of failure. The most successful people in life have admitted that it was through failure that they learned to become successful. Don’t ever give up and never stop believing in yourself.

Believing With All Your Might

Believing Is A Lifestyle

I’m sure many of you have heard it a thousand times, “Believe it and you will achieve it.” Well . . . it’s not quite that easy. Sitting around on a random day and just believing that you’ll become a millionaire is not going to do much. Believing is a lifestyle. You have to practice it every day, multiple times a day until you’re sick of believing! Believing with all your might is required for things to come true.

In the bible, we’re taught by Jesus Christ, the Son of God, to believe with all our heart and mind and that whatever we ask in prayer will come true. Many people will say, “Dr. Sinu! I’ve tried believing my entire life and nothing has ever manifested!” And then you gave up I take it? You see, believing requires a change in your personality.

This change involves persistence, stamina and the refusal to accept anything less. If you lack these traits, you are at a disadvantage because you are prone to giving up on your beliefs and settling for mediocracy. You have to understand something and this is not meant to scare you: you almost have to become delusional in your beliefs in order to see them manifest into your life.

But delusional in a good way; not the pathological kind that is known as delusional disorder. Being delusional in your beliefs is another way of saying, “Believe what it is that you want to believe to the point that others would tell you that it’s impossible.” And believing is not a one time sit-down session where you meditate and believe for 10 minutes and expect results in return.

Believing is a lifestyle. You must breath, sleep and eat beliefs all day, every single day, rain or shine. You must visualize with feelings in your mind, seeing yourself in your mind’s eye what you want to be doing and feeling it as if it were your current reality. It’s difficult to do that every day but it will pay off in the future with enough persistence.

I never knew that I would become a doctor until I turned 20 and not even then did I know that I would one day be in residency practicing psychiatry! I thought that I was going to end up in Hollywood as an actor or screenwriter, even though I still would like to accomplish these goals one day! But I got my mind right and set myself up to stay on one path only until it became a reality!

I never knew that I would one day start a blog called “Defeating Stigma Mindfully” and interact with people all over the world! But one day as I was sitting in my bedroom, I stumbled across WordPress and the rest was history. My point is that you can accomplish whatever you want!

You just got to have the dreams, vision, ambition and work ethic and actually set out to accomplish your goals!

Your Dreams Rock

You Are A Rock Star

With more time on our hands because of the virus that has decided to take a world tour, we have no excuse but to dream bigger and work towards making our dreams a reality. Utilize this free time as an opportunity to grow and plan out your future; no time should be wasted. Life always throws you opportunities for improvement, even if it’s during deadly times.

In other words, do not sit idly at home waiting for evilness to pass away; it never will. The coronavirus is just a small piece of the arsenal when it comes to Satan and his army; unfortunately he took out one of his more powerful weapons this time. But casually sitting around complaining about how your world has changed for the worse is not doing you any good.

Did you know that you are a rock star? We all are. But we have to start thinking like a rock star, believing like a rock star, dreaming like a rock star and eventually living like a rock star. No worldly event, no matter how negative and evil it may be, should be holding you back from progressing in life.

And it all starts with your dreams! Are you waking up every day believing that this will be the day that you will accomplish X, Y, and Z? If you are not, then you aren’t thinking like a rock star. You must feed your drive and motivation the minute that you wake up, no matter how pissed off you are and no matter how unfortunate your current circumstances are.

You can’t allow your environment to make you its slave; you will not allow that to happen! You have to learn to put yourself in a position of power where you are the one controlling your environment and this does not mean controlling others; you never want to control others. You want to be a leader, not a boss. Bosses tell people what to do; leaders show people how to do it!

So start dreaming and living like a rock star and watch your success and happiness skyrocket. And when you start demonstrating leadership qualities, people will start to respect and follow you to learn more from your awesome ways! This is the rock star mentality that you need to start adopting today.

Together we can and we will!

Don’t Stop Believing

Happy person sitting on cliff over body of water during daytime

Euphoric Dreams

Life is extremely talented at making you lose confidence in yourself: it’ll chew you up and spit you out a million times until it breaks you down to pieces. Those who care less are the ones who stand up and prevail in the end. Those who become emotionally weak and give up on their dreams are the ones who are left behind.

Don’t expect life to take it easy on you; it never will. One of your greatest assets is the power of belief. You have to hold onto this feeling of believing that you can accomplish whatever you’re set out to. Life will present you with many obstacles that will attempt to rob you of this feeling of believing; you just have to keep pushing forward.

The process of accomplishing your dreams and goals is not an easy one. It takes perseverance, hard work and many failures. Without failures, you cannot experience great victories. You will always taste the small victories, but in order to breath and feel the great ones, you must first experience the failures.

But dreams do come true! You just have to consistently apply the right mindset and get out there every day and put your best foot forward. The process of shooting for your dreams should always be an exciting one. Somewhere in the back of your mind, you should feel excited when you experience pain, misery and torture. This is how you know that you are battling your way to victory.

Without pain, misery and torture, you are moving at a snail’s pace. The more pain and adversity that you are experiencing, the faster the process is unfolding before your eyes. Once you get through the many obstacles lying in front of you, the bittersweet taste of having your dreams become a reality feels euphoric-like.

Drugs provide you with an artificial euphoria. Dreams provide you with a real euphoria. Let’s make our dreams come true on The DSM Ready Platform.

Learning How To Believe

The Difficulties In Believing

Believing in something can get quite frustrating at times, especially when you expect to see results and you don’t. Even believing in yourself can get disappointing from time to time; you start to wonder if you are just make-believing! Maybe what is happening is that you don’t know how to believe correctly, or how to handle your beliefs.

Believing in something or in yourself should not be something difficult to do. It’s just a matter of adopting a thought and “believing” with all your might in the content beyond that thought. And the belief should not have to be forced. If you are forcing yourself to adopt a belief, then you are trying too hard!

There’s a difference between positive affirmations and beliefs. Positive affirmations seem artificial, because you are telling yourself “I am” commands that may make you feel guilty for “lying” to yourself. However, with enough practice, the commands won’t make you feel guilty; but they still may appear artificial.

Beliefs aren’t like positive affirmations at all. Beliefs feel real and innate; they are part of who you are. It feels good and natural to believe in something. But where people go astray is when they lose their beliefs, out of lack of the results which they expected to see. When this happens, other things begin to crumble as well in their life.

You have room to ditch positive affirmations due to their artificial nature, but you don’t have room to ditch your beliefs; especially, if they’re beliefs that are helping you or will help you in the near or distant future. It may be difficult to maintain your beliefs at times, but just remember that it’s normal to experience difficulties in life.

Therefore, do not allow the difficulties of life to bring upon you difficulties in believing. Your beliefs provide you hope, desire, confidence and strength! When you start to lose your beliefs, you can only imagine what will happen to the rest of you; you’ll start to fall apart.

Keep believing and one day you’ll be rewarded!

Believing With All Your Might

Redefining Your Thoughts

The exciting thing about your thought processes is that you have the ability to change them at anytime. If a certain way of thinking has not helped you in the past, experimenting with a new perspective and outlook on things can help change your life for the better. But it takes practice and consistent application.

It first starts with redefining your thoughts: “Is this the way I like to think?”, “Am I happy viewing the world in this way?”, “Do I identify with my thoughts?”, “Is this even me or am I programmed by society?” Redefining your thoughts takes much practice and many runs to reach a mindset that will serve you best and bring you happiness and success.

The worst thing that you can do is to remain complacent and uphold the same thought patterns that have brought you mediocracy at best. There is no way to open up new doors and cruise new avenues with an outdated mindset; you’ll be getting more and more flat tires from the same potholes which have never been fixed.

And there is no finish line for redefining your thoughts. You constantly have to update your mindset, just as how society is constantly updating and evolving. If you do not find a way to stay ahead of society or at least follow its course, you will fall behind. And falling behind is when mental illness creeps in.

After you have discovered your newfound will to redefine your thoughts, you have to start implementing the power of belief! New thoughts without belief is like a new car without keys; you’ll just be observing from the showroom. But to transition from the showroom onto new avenues, you’ll need to start believing your new thoughts.

Many people have difficulty believing something which they have not yet achieved because they expect instant results. Impossible. Except out of luck and blessings, positive new results take time to achieve and to be delivered into your life. This is not an overnight gig.

Believing takes practice! Simple saying “I believe” is not enough. You need to invest all of your emotions, thoughts, will and might into believing something new that you would like to accomplish. And this needs to be applied every day, through the good and the hard times. But with consistent application of belief and redefining your thoughts as needed, you will soon experience the positive new results which you have been searching for!
