When The Mind Meets The Body
If you are not a firm believer that everything is connected in this world, then you still have much to learn. The mind and the body go together like an engine and a car: the engine is needed to power the vehicle and the outside structure is needed to hold the engine in place and allow the car to maneuver. Mental health and physical health are very much related in every way.
Mental health disorders do not always happen on their own. Most of the time, there are physical symptoms or physical disorders also present. For instance, depressed patients may feel fatigue, bodily pain, a loss of appetite or excessive hunger. Feeling just depressed is not always the main presentation; in fact, it almost never is.
On the other hand, people with physical ailments may experience mental health problems: depression, anxiety, fear, worry, concerns, nightmares, etc. The mind cannot function without the body and vice versa. Everything is connected on multiple levels. That’s why it’s so important to take care of both your mental and physical health.
You may be in the best physical shape of your life, but if you are not doing the things that make you happy, you’ll eventually fall apart. What is the purpose of being fit if you are not happy because you don’t have any friends? On the other hand, you may have a lot of friends and still not be happy, because you are eating unhealthy food and not exercising, making you appear overweight.
Even worse is when a drug or alcohol addiction is present: the one common denominator that destroys both the mind and the body at the same time. If evilness were to receive the noble prize, it would be for the creation of drug addiction. Actually, it also destroys the soul; it destroys the mind, body and soul. What better invention for destroying a human being than a drug addiction?
Overall, mental health and physical health are very much connected. That is why here on The DSM platform, we not only focus on mental health, but also on physical health, lifestyle and spirituality. We integrate the mind, body and soul so that all three are connected in a healthy and productive manner.
And the most effective glue that connects all three is love: it’s free, priceless and stems from the heart.
Are you Ready? (This is Defeating Stigma Mindfully)

Hello Alexander,
I believe the information in this video is precious for your article because what we are as adults have an explanation in childhood. Most of the mental diseases, such as depression, have roots in how people were raised.
Have a good sunday 😉

Like the song, I posted yesterday in your other article about the winter sun. Always better if you wait for the sunrise, it’s a song where inner feelings are metaphors for the sun, stars, and moon.
In this last article, you remind me of the humanism rules, where “the man” was seen in all his dimensions: conscience, love, freedom, and spirituality.
Somehow we forgot how to feed us with good emotions and a positive vision about life.
Healthy people love the intensity don’t you think?

Why thank you. We need to constantly feed ourselves and each other with good emotions and a positive vision about life, for if we do not do that, who shall? Depends on what kind of intensity 🙂

Seems like this conversations are feeding us with good emotions.
About intensity, what in what area of life do you require intensity?

Intensity comes down to the individual; it’s personal for everyone. It can be love, exercise, creativity… whatever you want

Generally, yes! It comes down with the individual… but you didn’t answer my question, maybe in other moment 😉

😉 It isn’t the right place to do so. Let’s first sign first the contract and then we can see what to do with intensity! 😉
