Prayer For Strength And Healing
There is a difference between religiosity and spirituality. A person may also be both religious and spiritual, or neither. But it is important to differentiate the two: religiosity is based on a specific set of organized beliefs and practices, usually shared by a community or group, while spirituality is more of an individual practice, having to do with a sense of peace and purpose.
Regardless of whether you consider yourself religious, spiritual or both, an important act that we often forget to do is praying for others. We become so engulfed in our lives, praying and wishing to better ourselves and our circumstances, that we forget the importance of community value and the world at large.
By always praying about yourself, you are showing God that everything is about you and less about others. The problem with this mentality is that it keeps you too focused on yourself, missing the importance of helping those in need of assistance! There are so many people around the world who are in far worse situations that you are!
There is a saying based on the idea that giving is worth much more than receiving; give and you shall be rewarded tenfold! This does not mean that everything that you give should be in the form of physical means; money and materialism become irrelevant if not given from your heart.
The most potent form of giving is through a prayer from your heart: a solemn request for help from God to assist and bless those in need. Some of your prayers may include:
- “Help those in need of shelter, food and money”
- “Hear the prayers of all the people around the world”
- “Heal the suffering of all good people”
- “Forgive us all, for we do not know what we do”
- “Reward the good people with all their wishes”
- “Heal those who are suffering from pain and misfortune”
. . . and more. You will find much more meaning within yourself when you dedicate some of your prayers onto others. Do not allow society to reinforce the idea of selfishness and ignorance. Do not believe false ideas such as, “I can become a God.” When you start entertaining this territory of thought, you risk losing your soul in the process.
Life is not about you or me; it’s about us. So let’s pray together and help humanity overcome its struggles.
